Diane Popek in "Tracks Along the Staunton" says Bean sold all his property to a Mr. Payne in 1764 and moved to Tennessee or somewhere in the South. In the first List of Titheables for Pittsylvania County Virginia taken in 1767, "William Bean, son William, land" and "John Been, Jun" were listed by Peter Perkins. *Footprints From The Old Survey Books of Halifax and Pittsylvania Counties in Virginia 1746-1840 by Roger C. Dodson, published by the Pittsylvania Historical Society: Beens Creek flows into the Dan River or to Moberly Creek, Grid 12-A. It is in the far southwest Corner of Pittsylvania County.
