James C. Ricketts b. 12/1836 in Pittsylvania County. He was a brick mason/farmer. About 1867 he married Martha A. TAYLOR b. 1844 Pittsylvania Cty. d. August 1, 1893 in Halifax Cty. of consumption. Their children: Alice S. Ricketts b. 1868 Pittsylvania Cty. d. September 30, 1891 of consumption. Did not marry. Fannie TAYLOR Ricketts b. 1870 Pittsylvania Cty. d. January 17, 1894 Halifax Cty. of consumption. Married James T. Shaw in 1886. This couple were my g-grandparents. I have further information on this couple and their children. Hattie D. Ricketts b. May 1, 1874. No other information. James T. Ricketts b. July, 1879. No other information. In 1880 this family lived in Bannister, Pittsylvania Cty. and in 1900 in Meadsville, Halifax County.
