Co. to Missouri in the late 1830's/early 1840's, and then returning to Pitts. (or a nearby county)? My NAPIER ancestors did this, and the 1850 census indicates that a number of other families did this as well (I could tell that there were families that were in VA, moved to MO and had children born there, then returned to Pitts., Henry, or Patrick County, VA). I wondered if this was a group move and what prompted them to go and then return. Other families that I found with this pattern included: Anderson, Burnett, Clark, Greer, and Minter (plus Napier, written as "Napper" in the 1850 census). Anyone have any clues or info on this? Many thanks, Allison Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
