From Rt.29 at Gretna VA, about 10 miles (or a little less ) west on Rt.40 the road crosses Pigg River. About 0.4 miles up river from the bridge,(southwest) Harpen creek enters Pigg River. On the south side of Pigg River secondary road 650 comes north, crosses Harpen Creek snd goes back south. At this point 650 gives access to a gaging ststion and a monimal boat launching area.
