    3. Hello, Can anyone give us some information on the Adams family in Pittsylvania County? Joseph Parsons, JR. married Sarah Adams in Pittsylvania July 20, 1790. We are trying to determine if this Joseph Jr. is a son of Joseph Parsons Sr.. Thanks for any and all help or suggestions. Donna Price Grantee Index to Deeds, Trust Deeds, Liens, Etc.—Pittsylvania County, VA Vol. 4 pages 127-28 Mar 23, 1775 Parsons, Joseph from Adams, John Jr., & wife This Indenture made the 23rd Day of March in the year of our Lord One thougsand seven hundred and seventy five Between John Adams Junr and Sarah his wife of the Parish of Cambden and County of Pittsylvania of the one part and Joseph Parsons of the same parish and County of the other part Witnesseth that the said John Adams Junior & Sarah his wife for and in consideration of the sum of ten pounds current money of Virginia to them in hand paid at or before the ensealing and delivery of these presents the receipt whereof they do hereby acknowledge & thereof do acquit and discharge the said Joseph Parsons they the said John Adams & Sarah his wife Have granted bargained and sold and by these presents do grant bargain and sell unto the said Joseph Parsons a certain tract and parcel of land situated in the Parish and County aforesaid containing by estimation forty nine acres and bounded as follows (to Wit) Beginning at a red oak, corner to Col. John Wooding and William Peters Martin thence along a line of trees, N 15 w. gc poles to Pointers Corner to the said Martin in Little Cherry stone Creeek the N 33 E. Cs pole to a white oak corner to said Martin then S?????E 81 pole to a branch then down the same the meandery thereof about 100 pole for a dividing line the West 53 pole to the Beginning place with all ways waters, privileges and improvements and the Revisions, remainders, issued and profiles thereof with the appertenances To have and to hold the said land and premises unto the said Joseph Parsons his heirs and assigns forever to his and their own use, and the said John Adams, Junr and Sarah his wife for themselves, their heirs executors and administrators do covenant and grant to and with the said Joseph Parsons his heirs and assigns that he the said Joseph Parsons his heirs and assigns shall and may at all times hereafter quietly and peacable have hold use possess. And enjoy. The said land & premises hereby conveyed free and clear of the lawfull claim and interruption of them the said John Adams Junr & Sarah his wife and all and every other person and persons what ever and that they the said John Adams Junr and Sarah his wife & their heirs the before granted lands and premises and every part thereof unto the said Joseph Parsons his Heirs and assigns against them the said John Adams Junr & Sarah his wife and their heirs and against every other person or persons whatsoever shall and will warrant and forever defend by these presents In Witness the said John Adams Junr & Sarah his wife have hereunto set their hands and seals the day & year before written Sealed & Delivered in the presence of John Adams Junr S. Tunstall Grantor Index to Deeds, Trust Deeds, Liens, Etc.—Pittsylvania County, VA Vol. 17 page 179 Hagood from Adams This Indenture made this seventeenth day of September in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and ten between Nancy Adams, John Adams, Nathan Adams sons of the said Nancy and Josph Parsons Senr of the one part and Lewis Hagood of the other part all of the County of Pittsylvania and State of Virginia Witnesseith that the said Nancy, John, Nathan and Joseph for and in considertion of the sum of one hundred and ninety pounds money of this state to them in hand paid at or before the sealing and delivery of these presents the receipt is hereof is hereby acknowledged hath bargained sold and delivered unto the said Lewis one certain tract or parcel of land situate lying and being in the aforesaid county of Pittsylvania on the waters of little Cherry Stone Creek containing by a late survey one hundred and ninety acres be the same more or less and bounded as follows at a pine in the forks of a path thence north so east one hundred and 24 poles to a pine south 20 west 24 poles to a red oak north 62 west 96 poles to some elms on the spring branch and down said branch as it meanders to an elm north 60 west 23 poles to a red oak sapling north 30 east 24 poles to a red oak north 62 west 23 poles to a pine thence new lines north an east 72 poles to a red oak north 24 east 82 poles to a new corner south 73 east 54 poles to the beginning including all woods ways and waters // standing growing and being thereon also all the right title interest claim and demand of them the said Nancy, John, Nathan & Joseph for themselves and their heir Executors and administrators doth covenant and agree to and with the said Lewis H. that the said nancy John Nathan & Joseph and their heirs executors and administrators will warrant and ever defend a good and lawful right and title in fer simple to the above granted land and premises unto the said Lewis Hagood his heirs against the lawful claims or demands of all and every person or persons whatsoever In witness whereof we the said nancy, John, Nathan & Joseph have hereunto set our hands and seals the day and date first above written.
