To: Lila Walters Moorer: RE: THOMAS WALTERS According to my information, my grandmother Vivian Ella Caroline WALTERS Anderson (b. 2 Sep. 1887), 9th daughter of my great-grandfather, James Volney WALTERS (b. 25 Nov. 1827), was the son of William W. WALTERS (b. 1805) who was the son of Jackson WALTERS (b. 7 Oct. 1772) and his 2nd wife Polley West Herring. Jackson was the son of Robert H. WALTERS (b. abt. 1750?) who was the son of the Thomas WALTERS (b. 14 April 1732) you are inquiring about. I have copies of several of the pages of the family Bible I believe you are referring to (the LEWIS family Bible). I received these copies from my dad who obtained them in the 1970s from another WALTERS descendant. My information gives the name of the father of Thomas WALTERS as William (Waters/Watters)WALTERS (b. before 1697 in Scotland - wife Elizabeth Robertson - married 15 June 1722 in Liberton, Midlothian, Scotland). My information gives the name of William (Waters/Watters) WALTERS as Archibald WALTERS b. about 1673, and his father as William WALTERS b. about 1650. I do not have documentation for all of this information as of yet, but this is the information I have, and this might give you some avenues to check.
