Joe, I had many of the same question you did about James Mitchell and set out a couple of years ago to see what the records said. I ended up with a collection I've never had the time to assess. Can you tell me where James went to in KY and when? It could be very important information. For what it's worth, here is some of what I found in the Virginia records. Would like to know what you have on this family; I have more, but this seemed plenty for now. Melanie, There must have been several James Mitchells in Pittsylvania Co., VA at the same time. I descend from and have been researching James Mitchell m. Sarah Warren (Philpott) (Hubbard). He was born ~1740s and died 20 July 1795. They were married 28 Mar 1779. They had a son named James Allen Mitchell (another James Mitchell). From your info.: Daniel Baugh did sell land to this James Mitchell. Good Luck with your hunt, Cindy (Hubbard) Headen mheaden@kimbanet.com
