I am searching for any and all information concerning Jeremiah Keesee and wife Sarah Burch Else (my great-great-great grandparents) of Pittsylvaniua County and their children. Jeremiah Keesee, Son of Richard Keesee and Ann ( ), b. 12 October 1751, Amelia County, VA., d. 9 January 1825, Pittsylvania County, VA. Wife, Sarah Burch Else, parents unknown, b. 4 October 1757, Pittsylvania Co. (?), d. 3 December 1813, Pittsylvania Co. The third name Else denotes she may have been a widow. Jeremiah and Sarah married on (?) date unknown. They had seven children all born in Pittsylvania Co. who all married in Pittsylvania Co (1) Ella Keesee, b. ca. 1778, married (?) Arnold. (2) Virginia "Jinsey" Keesee, b. ca. 1789, married William Taylor in 1804 and after their marriage moved to White Co., TN. (3) Ann "Amey" Keesee, b.ca.1781, married Thomas G. Turley on 5 January 1792. (4) Benjamin Burch Keesee, b.ca.1782, married Susanna Hutchison on 27 September 1809, and around 1810 migrated west into KY settling around 1817-1827 in Union Co., KY. (5) Arthur Keesee, b. ca. 1785 (6) Jeremiah Keesee, Jr., b. ca. 1786. Married a woman named Sarah surname unknown, also migrated west into KY, and member of David Fork Baptist Church, 9 miles from Lexington, KY. (7) Sarah B. "Sally" Keesee, b. 8 April 1797, d. abt 1838. Married David Hodges Grubb (1790-1844) on 4 July 1821. Received possession of the Jeremiah Keesee house which passed to the Grubb family. The house still stands today, although in bad condition and is located at the north-east junction of Grubb Road and Double Ridge Road, about 5 miles west of Chatham on Hwy 57. The Jeremiah Keesee-Grugg house is currently the property of Leland and Mary Moschler, Chatham, VA. Any help or assistance, or just a push in the right direction will be sincerely appreciated.
