I didn't mention in my last message that Wet Sleeve was indeed Presbyterian and was built around 1784 (referring to Clement's history). The first pastor called was Rev. David Barr and he was granted a license by Pittsylvania Courthouse to perform marriages in 1785. He moved to NC shortly thereafter and the congregation was ministered to occasionally by visiting pastors Revs. James Mitchell and James Turner of Bedford County. Clement indicates that the church disbanded around the time that Samuel Calland, Sr. died. I'm not sure any Session minutes or other documents survive (as they do for Chatham Presbyterian organized 1846). Tom
