Jan, I notice that in the 1820 census of Pittsylvania co., pg.823, there is a Beverly s. Shelton right next to my ancestor Lewis Atkinson. Lewis also went to Christian co., in a roundabout way. First ca. 1822 to Marion co., Illinois, then ca. 1835 to Christian co. Lewis married in Pittsylvania co., Mary Taylor, dau. of James. I think the Taylors and Sheltons were related. Where were they prior to Pittsylvania co.? Also, on the same pg. of the 1820 census was another person which has been discussed on PITTS-L, Jacob Barger, Sr. Archie Holmes
