    2. Bill & Agnes, Thank you for answering my query pertaining to early Land Entrys in Pittsy Co. I am sorry, but I only have a copy of the front cover of the book and p. 181 which lists the Land Entry I quoted before, which was dated 22 Jan 1755. According to the Pittsy Co. web site, the Entry Record Book is in the Clerk's office in Chatham. I would guess other copies are in libraries throughout VA. Bill, the William Sutherland you referred to is, no doubt, part of the family of Major Wm. T. Sutherlin whose home in Danville was noted as being the Last Seat of the Confederacy. My Sutherlins moved on to NC about 1775, and I have not been able to establish relationship, if any, with the family who remained in Pittsy Co. Elmer
