Good evening! Recently while visiting Pittsylvania County, my cousin and I found the small family cemetery of my great-great grandparents, James Edward ROARK and Tabitha Shields ROARK. The cemetery is located off of Roark Mill Road between Hurt and Motley, Virginia. There were several graves marked with rocks or stones. The following are the names and information on the tombstones - JAMES E. ROARK Born Sept. 6, 1838 Died Nov. 28, 1921 TABITHA SHIELDS Born Oct. 2, 1836 Died Sept. 25, 1917 They were married Feb. 4, 1857 ELLA SUSAN ROARK Oct. 17, 1909 - Oct. 5, 1913 MARY ANNIE ROARK Aug. 26, 1919 - Oct. 13, 1919 WILLIE THOMAS ROARK Dec. 23, 1923 - Apr. 3, 1924 (Note: These 3 children are believed to be the children of either Robert Sherman ROARK or John Anderson ROARK, sons of James and Tabitha ROARK) SALLIE CREWS HAILEY May 4, 1867 Oct. 27, 1939 ANDREW JACKSON HAILEY July 14, 1863 Apr. 16, 1926 AMY SIMPSON (nothing else on tombstone ???)
