MELTON, who married my ggrandmother, Mary Leigh ARCHER, in Pittsylvania County, on March 5, 1838. According to both family Bibles and other documents, both were born in Petersburg, VA. They lived from 1838 until just before 1850 in Pittsylvania County, then moved to Morganton, Burke Cty, NC, Because of the burned records, I have been unable to find out which families they came from. Any help at all would be gratefully appreciated.
