Joyce, In researching an unrelated line, I ran across the following website: http://www.rootsweb.com/~sueskay/ The site has a Reuben Herndon, son of George Herndon and Sarah Wingfield (m:1752). The family seems to be from around the Granville County North Carolina area. I do not know if this is your Reuben Herndon, but I hope this helps.
