    1. [VAPITTSY-L] Cemetery Question
    2. T Ellis
    3. I have my great grandfather's death certificate. I'm having a little problem reading the handwriting. It shows the name of the cemetery as Leemont or Leencout. It's supposed to be in Danville. Is anyone familiar with this cemetery or knows what the real name of it may be? Does it still exist? I checked an online telephone directory, and did not find anything even close to this name listed. Thank you, Tina Ellis de_family@hotmail.com ________________________________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free E-mail from MSN Hotmail at http://www.hotmail.com

    3. Tina, The correct name is Leemont. It still exists and you can visit it. It's in northern Danville, just off North Main. Tom

    3. Tina, I read Tom's reply as to the location of Leemont. There are also books listing the names of the people buried in the cemetery. I have seen them at Bassett Historical Society in Bassett, VA.
