Hello fellow list members, I couldn't help but notice that the above referenced post contained the name "Saluda". Can anyone tell me the origin of this given name? I have an ancestor also with that name, and have found it spelled numerous ways, ie. Saludy, Ludado, Saludia. Thanks for any information on this name. Pat in Va.
Hi...I've not researched the subject...but as I understand it there was a town named Saluda near where the Thomas Mustain family originally settled. I've also been told...so take it for what it's worth :o)...by a modern day Saluda...that she's never found the name used unless the person was a descendant of Thomas Mustain. Seems hard to believe...but it's been her primary focus of study.
