Hi, I am wondering if anyone has information on Williem MURPHY or his family. He was born in Pittsylvania County in 1730. His father, also William Murphy, was born in 1704 in Northern Ireland, and was the immigrant and the one who settled in the area. I am interested in knowing amything more about the family, including where in Pittsylvania County they lived. Thanks to anyone who can help. Nancy Chamberlain
There was NO PITTSYLVANIA CO until 1767; There were very few settlers this far west in the state until a bout1742 after the colony began to give land and tax breaks for people to settle this area. In 1730, this area would have been Prince George Co (records burned). MaryLeigh Tugie58@aol.com wrote: > Hi, > > I am wondering if anyone has information on Williem MURPHY or his family.
