George, Your grandfather received a Confederate pension, in 1902. Since your info was so sparse it is difficult to answer your question. If you will check the 1850 census of Pittsy you will see that his age matches the John Pearson son of Mastin Pearson on page 231-B. Since I do not know John H."s wife name, but if it was Mary, then she also received a pension stating that John Hutson Pearson died ca 1916.
