Hello Sue, I am new to this list but hopefully can help you a little on Edward Wade. In the DAR Patriot Index, the Edward Wade Sr, b. about 1727 and died 1790 in GA is the father of Lucy Wade who married Bryan Ward Nowlin. During the Depression, in the 1930s, the WPA catalogued many of the old homes in Pittsylvania County. A copy of those records can be found at the VA-NC Piedmont Genealogical Society Room in the Danville Public Library. One such home was that of Edward Wade Sr. Curiously, the WPA record refers to him as an Indian Scout and hunter. Melanie Dalton Crain
