Winnie was a widow for 79 years after her husband, Clifford Noel Peeler b 21 Oct 1894 d 24 Oct 1918, died. The children probably don't know much about their father as they must have been young when he died. Winnie P Peeler, 102, died Saturday Morning, March 1, 1997, in Roman Eagle Memorial Home where she had lived for five years. Born Oct 21,1894, in Moneta, she was the daughter of John P Lynch and Mary Wintworth Lynch. She spent most of her life in Danville, where she worked at Dan Rivers Mills. She was a charter member of Sledd Memorial United Methodist Church, which is now known as St. Luke's United Methodist Church, and where she was honored with a plaque for her years of faithful dedication. She served as treasure of the Ladie's Bible Class for many years. She was preceded in death by two sons, Major Clifford N Peeler and John C Peeler.Survivors include a daughter, Victoria P Townsend of Danville, four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren. She was the last member of her generation. Would appreciate any information on her descendants, children or grandchildren. Clifford was born in Commerce, GA and most of his family is still there. He is buried in Gray Hill Cemetery, with his father, mother, sister-in-law, and several neices and nephews, Commerce GA .She was missing from our family long enough and even though she is no longer with us, I would like her children to know what a beautiful lady she was, as I have photos of her when they were young. Thank you very much.
