Hello All Recently I was able to check out the Birth Register for Pittsylvania County and I noticed that at the top of the page, next to the county, it had Tunstall Township. Does anyone know anything about Tunstall Township and which part of Pittsylvania County it encompasses? Thanks in advance for your help. April
Hi April, I usually see the county carved up into Districts, not Townships -- there is a Tunstall District in the southwest corner of the county. Consulting the current VDOT county map, the northern boundary is VA Rte. 57 west of Chatham; the eastern boundary kind of zigzags it's way from the SW outskirts of Chatham along the western flank of White Oak Mtn, down toward the NC border, just east of Cascade. The towns contained in it are Callands, Swansonville, Cascade, Brosville, Whitmell, and several others. Hope this helps or is at least not confusing, Tom ----- Original Message ----- From: <Msajk@aol.com> To: <VAPITTSY-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Sunday, June 11, 2000 10:55 PM Subject: [VAPITTSY-L] Tunstall Township > Hello All > Recently I was able to check out the Birth Register for Pittsylvania County > and I noticed that at the top of the page, next to the county, it had > Tunstall Township.
