Hi Mike: I am searching for my ancestor BEN WILLIAMS who was in Pittsylvania Co. in 1793. His daughter married Jeremiah Gray who came from Montgomery Co., Maryland. I am including a will of BENJAMIN WILLIAMS of Montgomery Co., MD who mentions a McCUIBBIN family which may connect with your ancestors and I have not been able to ascertain if he is the right ancestor. Among the Shumate names is the name WILLY JAMES and a WILLY JAMES is also mentioned in this Will. Since all of these were in Pittyslvania Co. at one time and came from or went to somewhere else, there might be a lead for you.
