William and Mary College Historical Quarterly, Vol. 20, # 2, P. 143 has "David" Shelton being the father of Millicent Shelton in 1777 on a marriage record. This is a classic case that we must check original sources and use only publications as hints. Discrepencies are even in 100-year-old articles in highly-respected journals. Linda
