Dear Folks: A couple weeks ago I posted a late night plea for guidance on how to best spend my time during a one-day trip to Pittsylvania County. So many of you kind people supplied information! I tried to thank each and all, but if I missed you, I apologize. I was amazed at the Archives room in the Danville Library. The little lady archivist was a dynamo! She knew where to find everything and she was the most willing "source" I've ever dealt with! In addition to finding several pieces of good information, I was able to locate an old private cemetery where my greatgrandparents and several other family members are buried. Since I took photographs, I'm sure that cemetery will never again be "lost." It was a wonderful trip, and even husband -- who is not a genealogy buff -- enjoyed my ancestor hunt. Thank you all for sharing! Anne Nemeth-Barath researching primarily Parrish in Pittsylvania
Hi Anne, The lady could be none other than Marillyn Halstead (at the VA-NC Piedmont Genealogical Society) -- and yes, she's extraordinarily helpful and and has an amazing wealth of information in her head. Glad you found some interesting things! Tom
