Va Queries Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Va/Pittsylvania/391 Surname: Adkins, Clark, Hensley, Kendrick, Reynolds ------------------------- Hello Everyone, I want to thank everyone who provided any information or assisted me in the research of this massive project. At present I have 78 Family members who served in the 18th, 21st, 38th, 42nd, 46th, 53rd, and 57th Virginia Infantries. The project now includes over 300 non family members who also served in the war in these units as well. I now have over 148 pages of data typped on the men, the battles they saw action at, stories passed down through various families, History of life in the army camps, battlefields, and a brief history of almost every engagement they saw action at. Over the past 5 months, I have visited over 100 battlefields collecting information on the battlefields and general information on the war. I have taken tons of pictures to document each of the battlefields and located about 50 graves of the Civil War members and photographed them as well. I am still seaking any additional information to be added in this project, so if you know of someone who may have a letter, photograph of a civil war vet, I would be honored to add it to the project. The following is a quote from the Memoriam page in the first part of the project: " In Loving Memory of all of the Brave men from Franklin, Henry and Pittsylvania Counties, who served with pride in the Civil War, 1861 - 1865. May your sacrifices never be forgotten." The Project is titled " In The Shadows of Turkeycock Mountain" With a lot of luck and work it should be finished I hope the last part of October. Again may thanks to everyone who has help in this project, and look forward to hearing from others in this quest. Respectfully yours, Michael D. Kendrick 10424 Genito Rd.
