You can google it, click on the link, then feed in the name Nimrod Scott as I'm guessing there will be too many Thomas Scott's to discern which one is yours. Your Thomas Scott appears to have been married to Delilah, rather than Susan. He is identified as ID # 1616719867. Hope that helps you in your research. There is also a name listed for the person who provided that information so hopefully you can connect with her. Good luck. Author: oldbuckhouse1 Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.virginia.counties.pittsylvania/694.2.2.1.1.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Thank you. >From what I've gathered from the posts/not chisled in stone; 1) Samuel 2) Anthony/Jane Hawes; Francis, Elizabeth, Ann and Samuel. 3) Samuel/Chritian Vaughn; **Corneluis, James, John, Elizabeth, Nancy Ann and Robert. My Thomas Scott abt 1787 VA, had children in GA. His assumed brother, Robert 1781, was also in GA, and appears to be tied with Cornelius as a son. I have most of Cornelius' information, but no Thomas has been documented, as far as I can tell. So, I ordered Cornelius' military record. I'm posting all of this in the event somone happens on it, and hopefully a light goes on. I would email the person you suggested, but would prefer her to invite me, unless you think she wouldn't mind. Thank you for the contact. I show Thomas Scott as beorn ca 1730 and died 1770-1771 in Pittsylvania County. He was married to Susan ?. If these dates are correct, Thomas Scott died when Nimrod was only about 10 years old. 2. DAVID BURNETTE
    3. The Virginia Map shows Rockford School Road running from a point on old rte. 29 a few miles North of Gretna, Virginia all the way to "The Pocket" in Northern Pittsylvania Co., Virginia. Near the end of Rockford School Road there was another school called Pocket School. The Altavista Journal Newspaper, dated June 15 1967, ran a photo of children attending Pocket School in 1913. Those attending; Charlie Weeks, Mae Weeks, Willie Weeks, Dave Weeks, Virgie Farmer ( Mrs Earnest Mattox ), Florance Brizentine, Emma Chism, Myrtle Chism, Luke Owen, Beatrice Owen, Noel Simpson, Orie and Minnie Dalton. The school building later became the residence of Otis and Edna Weeks. The location of Rockford School would be greatly appreciated. David

    1. [VAPITTSY] Brittain residents ca 1770s
    2. David Brittain
    3. Greetings, I have an ancestor named George Brittain, my earliest provable ancestor, who is shown to be a landowner in Pittsylvania and Henry counties in the late 1700s. His name appears on a list of those taking the Oath of Allegiance in Pittsylvania Co. in 1777, at which time he would have been 35 years old. Does anyone know if the men in that area served in a unit together during the Revolutionary War? Does the last name of Brittain (or Britton, etc) ring a bell with anyone who has researched their ancestors in that area of VA? Thank you, David Brittain
