I am looking for the ancestors of James W. Dix b. abt. 1858. On the 1900 census he and his family are living in Dickinson, Franklin Co., VA but I feel that this family was originally from Pittsylvania Co. In 1900 the family of James W. Dix included wife Lucy W. ?; children John C. Dix b. abt. 1892, James W. Dix, Jr. b. abt. 1895, Benjamin S. Dix b. abt. 1896, and Roland S. Dix b. abt. 1899. Also in the household in 1900 was Mary J. Dix listed as "mother". Any information on this family is greatly appreciated.

HI: I'm looking for my great-grandmother's cousin, JOHN ENOCH. He left Caswell County, NC between 1910 and 1920 (and unfortunately, between Census enumerations). Since some of my Long family lived in Pittsylvania County, I'm curious as to whether he lived here too. His wife was LILLIE (nee FULLER, from Orange Co., NC). Their oldest children were born in VA between 1910 and 1920. By 1920, the family has moved to CLARK COUNTY, OH. Thanks for all help. Kberry

I am looking for proof. The line on World Connect does not offer proof/sources that "Archibald" is the father to Thomas, nor Samuel is the father to Archibald. There has been some information that has raised doubt. Thomas 1787 named his first child Asa, then went onto Allen, William, Nimrod and Archibald. Asa named his first child Francis. Typically, during this era, names were given to the child for honoring the family members, living or deceased. For this reason, and a multitude of others, I can question Archibald being the father to Thomas. Thank you for your response.
