There is a Sandy Creek in Pittsylvania. It can be found on the Spring Garden USGS quadrangle map, and is generally about 10-15 miles east of Chatham, flowing eastward out of White Oak Mountain.
Hi! I need to know if there is a Sandy Creek in Pittsylvania County. I am trying to track down some ancestors ( John Adams ) who lived on Sandy Creek. They eventually moved on to Halifax County and there doesn't seem to be a Sandy Creek there. If anyone knows about Sandy Creek, please let me know. Thanks! Sherry

Joyce, In researching an unrelated line, I ran across the following website: http://www.rootsweb.com/~sueskay/ The site has a Reuben Herndon, son of George Herndon and Sarah Wingfield (m:1752). The family seems to be from around the Granville County North Carolina area. I do not know if this is your Reuben Herndon, but I hope this helps. I currently have access to THE GARDINERS OF NARRAGANSETT by Caroline E. Robinson, copyright in 1919. This book gives the genealogy of George Gardiner, father of Benoni Gardner. Some folks think that Nathaniel Gardner (married Margaret Heath) is descended from this line. This book does NOT indicate that Nathaniel, son of Benoni, or his descendants migrated to Pittsylvania County. Does anybody have any information on Nathaniel that might confirm this theory? I am searching for the ancestry of John Gardner that married Betsy Finch, parents of William Finch Gardner of Pittsylvania County. Any help is appreciated. Perhaps we can compare your findings with the book's. Carol
Mr. Kesler, is there an Abraham Clement and a Thomas Clement in this Clement line? I know there were Thomas Clements in New Jersey and an Abraham Clement in Penn or Virginia. This Clement finally goes to Georgia where he has a family there the entire family moves to Arkansas and then to Missouri. Do you know of connections between Benjamin Clement and either the Abraham line or a Thomas Clement line? thanks, Wanda Cole ---------- > From: Richard W.
