Let me know, thanks, Nancy >> That's okay, I'd begun to realize that with those dates I almost had to be the source. Yes, most assuredly a question mark, I have absolutely no proof of a connection between my Christopher and George Johnson Robertson. I will soon be heading for the Filson Club here in Louisville, to attempt researching George's descendants. I hope to run into Christopher, and then perhaps into a bible birth record for William H. Wish me luck, I think I'm going to need it! Thanks for your reply. Linda

    3. Hi Anne, Off the top of my head there's the courthouse on Main St. in Chatham (just take Rte. 57 from Callands into Chatham, turn left at the light, go about 2 or 3 blocks & the courthouse is on the right. Make a right on Bank St. and park behind the courthouse, to the right). The courthouse is open from 8 to 4:45 or so. Also the VA-NC Piedmont Genealogical Society is a must-see -- it's open Tuesday 2 to 5. It's located in the Danville Public Library -- their number is 804-799-5195. They can give you directions. Hope this helps! Have fun! He says we'll probably be staying somewhere in the Callands area. All suggestions will be GREATFULLY APPRECIATED! Anne Researching PARRISH in Pittsylvania/Goochland/Callands areas

A Barney Boswell was lidsted as the surety for a marriage bond between Charles Boswell and Nancy Keesee in Pittsylvania County, VA in January 1793. This Charles died in Pittsylvania County, VA between 1842 and 1843 leaving his wife Nancy and the children--James, Polly, Ignatius or Janatius "Nacy", Sarah "Sally", Mark, Abigail, Rebecca, and Charles Noah Boswell. Does anyone know the relationship between Barney and Charles? Barney may have been the son of a John Boswell. I'd appreciate any help.

    1. [VAPITTSY-L] Christopher Robertson / VAPITTSY Digest Vol. 00 issue 278
    2. Subj: Christopher Robertson Date: 8/27/2000 To: Nla2247@aol.com (Nancy in MD) Hi Nancy, I've had a few hours to calm down (a bit), so I can better explain my bated breath and chills of yesterday -- as I'd replied to you last October, I really had no proof that my g-g-g-grandfather Christopher was the son of George Johnson Robertson and Elizabeth Coleman Robertson of Pittyslvania Co., VA, although all the evidence I have is pointing that way. I didn't want to send my line to you until I knew for sure - and already, as I explained then, someone had taken my theory and published it on the internet in the "Robertson Report" as fact -- which had upset me no end. I had only found names of three of George Johnson Robertson's children, none of which were Christopher, although the birthdates were right in line with his. Finally, I found some old bible records transcribed on the internet, which included the names of more of George's children -- and there, as you've probably guessed, was the name Christopher -- and even better yet, the name of his wife, Anne (same name as my Christopher's wife), and to go even one better, the statement that they had moved to KY in 1850 -- which fits perfectly with my Christopher's scenario. However, I knew that no genealogist worth her salt would consider that bible entry enough to prove that THAT Christopher was MY Christopher -- there still was no real connection. BUT, knowing that at least two of my Christopher's children were born in VA, I realized that if the Christopher in the bible entry had children by the same name and with the same birth years, I could be more than reasonably certain that I had found my Robertson lineage......... which is why yesterday it took my breath away to see your mention of William H. being the son of Christopher. Yes, as you've probably guessed by my question yesterday -- William H. was the name of my Christopher's oldest son, and he was born in VA. What amazed me further was that you knew William's birth date AND death date. What I need to know is where you acquired that information -- because if it turns out that *I* was the source (and I don't think I was), then I'm right back to square one and you've been given premature and possibly bogus information. However, if your source was anything or anyone other than me, then you will have made my connection (!!!)...and I cannot tell you how thrilling that will be for me after two years of frustrated searching for Christopher's ancestors.... Thanks Nancy! Needless to say, I am really, really looking forward to hearing from you. If this pans out, I will send you my Christopher's descendant line immediately. Linda
