Posted on: Pittsylvania Co. Va Queries Reply Here: http://genconnect.rootsweb.com/gc/USA/Va/Pittsylvania/410 Surname: Mahon ------------------------- Looking for the famiy of Williamson and Martha A. Mahon. In 1850, they had children: Louisa, born c1845; Angelica, born c1847 and Jeduthan, born c1849. All are gone in 1850. I find no probate or land records for Williamson Mahon. Where did they go?
I am looking for family of (siblings, parents, children, descendants) of William Patterson and Nancy Faris (Farris, Pharis) born in Pittsylvania, Virginia about 1779 and married about 1799. I am looking to confirm James M. Patterson born March 01, 1802, as one of the children. This Patterson line went on to amass a LARGE fortune and the line died out with no one to leave all the money to. If you can prove this family your share of the wealth would be.....okay so there is no fortune but I would love to hear from you. Jeff Bailey, Gladstone, Missouri.
I recently saw DAVIS and VADEN surnames posted and thought I would send this out into cyberspace. The will of my 5Ggrandfather, Joab MEADOR(d.1818 Pittsylvania Co. VA) was executed by sons-in-law, Joel WILLIS [Francis MEADOR], Benjamin DAVIS [Lydia MEADOR] and Thomas DAVIS [Sally MEADOR]., Haml. WHITE, Samuel MEADOR. It was witnessed by Wilson VADEN, Wm H.MEADOWS & Major Townes MEADOWS [both of whom married VADENS.
I am seeking information on Amanda H. VADEN who married Major Townes MEADOR /MEADOW/MEADOWS on 5 NOV 1841 in Caswell Co., NC. Amanda H. VADEN was born on 12 MAR 1825 in Virginia. Gary, the VA state library digital page, has all of the info you seek. The URL is ,<www.LVA.LIB.VA.us/dlp/index.htm>....First if you have Adobe Acrobat, then you have a Tiff reader. Once on the page GO to Military, click Go to Confederate Pensions click Now hit Boolean search, type in Pickeral click Now hit the name click, when you read the page if it is a Pittsy person, go to the TOP line, (further media info, I think) click, when the document page comes up click #1 , when the locked computer appears hit READ on site then okay, the docs will appear on screen, use the back button to return to see other documents. ALWAYS click the read on site....Look at all of the other Confederate references...You can enlarge, check the tool bar. There are about 10 PICKERAL/PICKERELL, almost all from southern VA. You'll love this site, Have fun, you can't do too much wrong, if I can work it anyone can, I'm a beginner Computer user. Email, if you need further help. Warm Regards, Margie Brown
