Hey ,I found out a little info on The creek and it,s existence. In the record books it mentions Frying pan creek as being around back in the early to mid 1700s,I believe that would mean it would have been there a lot longer .I was wondering what Indian tribe were around in the 1700's and any other historical info on this area .I live on the creek itself. From looking at an old map from the 1800's it looks like the creeks feed is from the pigg river.Does anybody know the ownership of this area from 1900's back to when the Bennett's and Bobbitt's,form land deeds looks like Bobbitt owned it first, then willed it to his sons and daughters I believe one of the girls may have been married to a Bennett,Not sure if the spelling of the last names is correct. well Bye 4 now. Jerry Tuttle

Gang, I received a response from Andrew Billinghurst at RootsWeb/Ancestry. They are aware of the problem and are attempting to diagnose it from anecdotal reports that we submit. Presumably they are also testing from within. So far I've received about 10 responses to my message sent to subscribers outside of the mailing list -- the more folks I hear from, all the more quickly this problem may be solved. What I plan to do is identify which ISPs (internet access provider, such as AOL, Roadrunner, etc.), even which subscribers, are not receiving all of their listmail and give that list to RootsWeb in the hope it will be useful. So, I encourage you to respond to me (off-list), especially if you're a pack rat like me, and save all your VAPITTSY e-mails and can give me a tally of what you've gotten compared to what's in the archives for this month. Thanks! Tom listadmin, VAPITTSY

There is also another record dated 16 Aug.1814, Samuel Barnes (defendant) vs. George Joiner (plt) Bk 16 pgs 287 and 329. I've written to the County asking for these records but got a response that they did not have the staff to research old records and they would not provide them. I would be oh so grateful of someone could provide these to me.

DNA indicates he was likely related to the Barnes who were early Jamestown settlers, of whom Thomas Barnes (m. to Diana Ann Bragg) was also related.

Richard Dunn's son, William Burl Dunn, of Simpson County, Kentucky was my great, great grandfather. Next week when I get home, I will visit with you again.
