Do you know if this is a second wife or what?? Also on the 1850 Patrick Census - there is Richard Wood, Sr. with wife Lucy and next door is Richard Wood, Jr. b. abt. 1810 with wife Elizabeth. Do you know who this Richard Jr. is? I thought maybe it was John Richard but the age is right far off and John Richard's wife was Lucinda. >> #1 is the $64k question! I have that Edward married Mary MORAN... Compiled Marriage Records, Patrick Co., VA., p. 131: [day didn't copy] Sept 1830, Edward WOOD and Mary MORAN. Min. Jesse JONES. Yet, another researcher sent me information stating that his wife's name was Nancy NOLEN, and that they married on 04 Dec 1841 in Franklin Co., VA. Given that his death record (as shown in archives, Patrick Co., VA) shows the following: 04 Jan 1998---Downloaded from USGenWeb Archives for VA: Patrick Co., VA Death Records 1853-1870 N Wood, Edward DOD 12 May 1860 A 50 s M COD Pneumonia P Richard and Rachel Wood POB Franklin Co., VA POD PCVA H W Nancy Moran Wood I Nancy, wife I suspect that there might have either been two marriages, or the record is not correct (your guess is as good as mine). #2....hmmmm. I have John Richard WOOD, married to Lucinda DEHART, but you are right...he wouldn't have been born ca. 1810 (he was born 1799). And it is not likely that the Jr. Richard would be Dickie WOOD, married at that time to Elizabeth DEHART, because he was waaaay older than that. I really don't have an answer on that one. Sorting out those WOOD marriages makes my head hurt. LOL! Lainie Hendrix
