My ancestor Beckwith LYELL bca 1793 married Peggy (Margaret) OWEN 18 Sept 1815 in Pittsylvania Co. Va. She was the daughter of David OWEN and Peggy NELSON (She gave concent). Later there are LYELL & LYLE in Henry Co., but I can't locate Beckwith before his marriage, or what might be his parents. No proof, but his father may have been Richard LYELL. Beck named his first son Richard. Others were named Robert, John and William. Any help appreciated. Mary in ILL.
