Hoping my Lyells can be found in neighboring counties. My Mother will be 96 on Nov. 9th. She is in fairly good health, lives alone, and is very sharp mentally. Her maiden name was LYELL. Her earliest known ancestor:Beckwith Lyell born 1793 Pittsylvania Co. Va. Married there in 1815 to Margaret (Peggy) Owen, daughter of David and Peggy Nelson Owen of Pittsylvania Co. I would love to "gift" her with Beckwith's parents, but have found no other Lyells in this co. so they were surely in some neighboring county. His father may be Richard Lyell, the name "Beck" gave his eldest son, and he may have had a brother named Richard. I would like to hear from any other Lyells (Lyle) researching in this area.
