Hello Barb and gentle cousins, I am relatively new to the list and am researching the O'NEAL family. My gggGrandfather (Maternal), John O'Neal married Sally Carruthers in Guilford Co. NC in 1805 and moved to the Grayson/Carroll Co, VA area in 1810, when it was part of PATRICK Co, VA. It appears that John died between 1827 and 1830. The 1830 census shows Sally and children, but not John. I am trying to find his final resting place. It is believed to be near the Goodspur, a southerly spur off the Blue Ridge Mountains near Pauls creek. I hope someone of you may be familiar with this area and can point me in the right direction.
