Marsha, the next county south of Patrick Co., VA is Surry Co., NC. In Surry, most of the Hudson's spell their name "Hutson". They consider the two spellings to be interchangeable I believe. There were Joyce's in Surry also. Don't overlook this spelling if you continue to seek info on your Hudsons.
