Hello, I'm not sure the age of your Robert. Robert was the brother and son of Jonathan. If he was the son then Mary Burnett was the mother. If he was the brother then Joseph Boyd wife Nancy was the father. They indeed were from Russell Co. They all went to Russell before 1850. Joseph may have had a brother John. So far I can't find Joseph's father but believe it was Joseph who migrated from PA to right across the border to NC. Jonathan was suppose to be on a hunting trip and saw Russell co. Liked it and moved there. I believe that Joseph maried Nancy who was an AARON. According to my grandmother AARON was the maiden name of the wife of a BOYD. She had written it down from her mother, who knew the family history.
