    1. Re: [VAPATRICK] Wives of Uncle Dickie Wood
    2. Thanks to all with suggestions about the identity of Elizabeth DeHart Wood, Uncle Dickie’s second wife. In the census of 1830, which was after Rachel Cockram’s death and before Dickie’s marriage to his third wife, there is a female aged 50 to 60 who I assume was his wife, Elizabeth. If this is Elizabeth and the age is correct, then she would appear to have been born between 1770 and 1780, not in 1810 as some sources have it. That would seem to rule out James DeHart as her father, since he is also recorded as being 50 to 60 in the 1830 census. In the 1840 census he is recorded as 70 to 80, but that would still be cutting it close, especially since he didn’t marry until 1797. It is, of course, possible that the age for the female in the 1830 census is incorrect. Can anyone tell me the source for information that Elizabeth was the daughter of James and Catherine Hubbard DeHart or that she was born in 1810? Charles Leon Harris

    3. My info. may not be accurate but I have on page 50 of my book that James DeHart married Philadelphia Martin, daughter of William Martin and Rachel. Second, he married Catherine Hubbard January 28, 1797 in PCVA, daughter of Benjamin Hubbard. Third, he married Delphia Martin December 3, 1831 in PCVA. Delphia Martin was the widow of Moses Martin. Sur. paid by Stephen Hubbard, Witnesses Elijah H. DeHart, Min. Stephen Hubbard. I only have listed the same five children I wrote for Catherine Hubbard. I have no Elizabeth for James DeHart, but that does not mean there was not one, maybe with the other wives.
