> 3. Does anyone have a list of the children of Micajah > Martin, b 1778? From the Isaac Martin Family History published by Eunice Kirkman and updated by Richard Rogers... Micajah Martin was born in 1778 in Halifax Co. Va, died after 1850 in Patrick Co Va. He was the son of James B. and Ann Oglesvy Martin. James was the son of Isaac and Phyllis Martin. Micajah married Celia Reynolds on Jan. 12, 1807 in Patrick Co Va. Their two known children are: Jesse Martin, born 1816 Patrick Co Va. William M. Martin, born 1832 Patrick Co Va No further info is shown for either child. I'm guessing there were more children though, as a 16 year gap between children would be most unusual. And the 1840 census records two males 20 and under and 2 females 10 and under. Also, I don't find Micajah in the 1850 census, so the death date given of "after 1850" may or may not be correct. John, Thanks for the info on Micajah. He also put up the surety for Kiziah Martin, for her 1835 marriage to Jourdon Keaton. I wonder if she could have been a daughter, too, or close relative? There are a number of Martins born in the 1810s and early 20s whose parents are apparently unknown. If you look at the way their birth dates are staggered, it suggests they could have been siblings - although not necessarily of Micajah. Just a thought, of course. --- "John Taylor Martin Jr." <jtmartin@bellsouth.net> wrote: > > 3.
