An Isham Harris is mentioned in several documents with Samuel, James, Reuben, and William Harris, who are shown by a 1796 deed to have been sons of William and Sarah Harris of Patrick County. Isham Harris was not mentioned in the deed, but he lived in the same area along the headwaters of Smith River, and I believe he may also have been a son of William and Sarah. An Isham Harris, presumably the same one, married Elizabeth Jordan in Patrick County on 13 Jan 1808. His signature appears on an 1818 deed along with that of an unknown Luby Harris. Isham Harris was listed as a head of household in the 1820 Patrick County census, and the last known record of him in the county is dated 1821.
