March 8, 14, 21, April 4, 11, 2005, HISTORY PROGRAM: GENEALOGY FOR BEGINNERS. This is a new series of classes for those who were not enrolled in the first class "Genealogy for Beginners," presented by Esther Johnson. This class is a five-part series designed for the individual who is interested in tracing his/her family tree and does not know where to begin. This introductory level class provides systematic assistance for beginning family research. The class will meet at the Museum classroom on Tuesday, March 8 from 10:00 a.m.-12:00 noon. The March 14 and April 11 classes will be held on Mondays from 10:00 a.m.-12:00 noon at the Museum. Participants should enter the Museum at the West Oak Street entrance. The March 21 (Monday) class will be held at the Surry County Register of Deeds office in Dobson from 3:00 p.m.-5:00pm. The April 4 (Monday) class will meet from 10:00 a.m.-12:00 noon at the Carlos Surratt Genealogy and Local History Room in the Surry Community College Library.
