Barb, I found a trout stocking map and it appears that Shooting Creek starts in the southwest corner of Franklin Co and then goes into Patrick Co to eventually join the Smith River up above Philpott Reservoir. http://www.dgif.state.va.us/fishing/TroutGuide/area_map_3.pdf David
