No, I don't have a copy of the book. Mainly what I'd like to know is where cemeteries are located that have a number of Fulchers buried there. When we come up for the picnic (hopefully!) we'd like to roam around and read some headstones. One of the main subjects we're interested in is George Fulcher (apparently the first Fulcher in Patrick Co.) and who his father was. We've got a name "John Fulcher" but do not have documented proof. There's alot of discussion and misinformation out there on the web about this topic, but no one has ever shown me real evidence of this relationship. We are trying to connect the Virginia Fulchers back to the first Fulcher in America, Capt. Thomas Fulcher. Thanks for the help!!!! Pilson Cemetery Book Dear Mizz Kat, Do you by chance have a copy of O.E. Pilson's cemetery book of Patrick County and some from surrounding counties? I have a copy and can do a look up for you. Who are you interested in or do you just want to know where the cemeteries are located that have Fulchers buried there? I have a cousin in Patrick County that was married to a Fulcher but he died. I don't remember what his given name was but she has two sons and they all still live in Patrick County. I can ask them about the Fulchers and see what they might know. Let's see if I can explain this one without getting myself too twisted around... The William Penn who married Elizabeth Markham, was the grandson of ANOTHER William Penn (who married Margaret Rasthall of Glouchestershire, England.) One of THIS William Penn's sons, Giles Penn, was the grandfather of THE William Penn, of Pennsylvania fame. I'm not exactly sure how many cousins removed William Penn (married to Elizabeth Markham) and William Penn (of Pennsylvania) are for sure, but if I read it right, (and this is confusing...) the first one's grandfather was the great-grandfather of the second. Yikes...it will make your head spin! In any event, our Patrick Co. Penns are definitely related to the most well known Penn and to the state itself. This is all presuming, however, that everything in the lineage below is absolutely true. Through George Penn and Anne Flemming, this is pretty well documented and can be counted on...BUT, there are some researchers who question the link at John Penn and Lucy Granville. There are others who feel comfortable with this. It seems to be sort of 50-50 with Penn researchers. I personally have this lineage written down in my records, but with the understanding that it could one day be proven incorrect. I actually HOPE it is correct because it is through this direction that the Penns claim heritage back to European royalty. Through Lucy Granville, there is a pretty well documented trail back to the Plantagenet family of British royalty. From there, you can basically connect back to every ruling house in Europe. The Spanish even claim to be able to trace all the way back to Mohammed! It gets pretty wild! (But it's fun to dream...) The whole thing hinges on poor Lucy Granville, though, so it would be nice to have more concrete proof before we start asking folks to call us "your highnesses!"
