Here's the PCGS Program Calendar for this year. February 21st, Video on The Great Wagon Road & Olde Salem. March 21st, Quaker Meeting Houses of Patrick County in Particularly Friends Mission & Burks Fork. Guest Speaker: Anthony Lowe. April 18th, Jonathan Corns will present an informal program on Patrick County Cub & Boy Scout History. The Patrick County Heritage Book & The Patrick County Genealogy Society have proudly sponsored Jonanthan in his project to earn his Eagle Scout Award and this history is the first ever compiled of Patrick County Cub & Boy Scouts. May 16th, Civil War Oral History & Genealogy. Guest Speaker: Gary Walker. June 20th, Scotch - Irish. Guest Speaker: Professor R. P. Lanier of Radford University. July 18th, Appalachian Folklore. Guest Speaker: Professor Ricky L. Cox of Radford University. August 15th, Cherokee Culture & History & Genealogy. Guest Speaker: Dr. Abram of the Museum of the Cherokee in Cherokee, NC. September 19 & October 17th to be announced. We will try to reschedule The Moravians and Wagon Roads in one of these slots. November 21st, Annual Sharing Meeting & Covered Dish Meal beginning at 6:00 p.m. Bring your scrapbooks, family pictures & family trees. As you will notice, our programming this year is centered around those who traveled The Great Wagon Road who are the ancestors of many of us in Patrick County. I will have more information on these programs as they get closer.
