    1. Update on Patrick County Heritage Book Volume II

    3. I just talked with the publisher today, and it looks like the Heritage Book will be back in March. We have completed the 2nd Proofs as has the publisher and I'm awaiting the 3rd Proofs to arrive at my door anyday now. I'm glad we didn't go to press with the 1st Proofs at Christmas as we were under 48 hour turnaround with each section as the publisher sent it to us in an effort to try and make up the 3 weeks lost to both hurricanes. When we completed the 2nd proofs after Christmas, we had 50+ pages of errors and 53 bad pictures that had to be fixed. Nearly all these errors were from the submitters in misspellings, grammar, material that was left out from not proofreading their work before it was turned in, and dates. The picture problem was also from submitters that turned in bad pictures to us from not having enough experience with scanners to make good copies. We made every effort to contact submitters to get these stories right for you. And all but five of the pictures were fixed by the publisher (thank goodness for modern technology). Anyway, I know you will enjoy it when it comes. As soon as we go through these 50+ pages of errors to make sure they're all fixed, that's it, and we're off to the press. So we're almost there. Hope you have plenty of muscle power to lift it, its big compared to Volume I with many many more Family Stories and pictures. Hey you might even need to get into Olympic training to lift it, just kidding! It's going to be a great quality book and we've worked very very hard to get it to this point. We hope each of you enjoy our book when it comes out. We know we have enjoyed reading your stories and looking at your pictures. The stories are just grand as are the pictures. If you were set to receive your book via UPS, please know your name and address has already gone to the publisher for shipping. So the long and short of it is, March is expected arrival, we're awaiting the third and final proofs, it's coming very soon! If you have any further questions about the Heritage Book, please e-mail me and let me know. I'm always happy to reply back to you. 3. Mr. Hiatt, I am just receiving notice about the Patrick co. Heritage book. I have shelves full of these books from other counties and I would be interested in purchasing one if the line includes , Daniel's, Hopkins, Gunnell , Spencer lines... My Hopkins is from a Richard 1700, Spencer "John / William early 1700's.. A Joseph Hopkins m. Mary C. Gunnell ... Sorry to ask so many questions but I have bought books from a county with no results which is very disappointing.. Thank you, Gail Hopkins
