HI all, I'm new to the group so I'll introduce myself first, I'm Peggy, been researching my surnames for about 3 years now, with luck on most names . With exception to the name Crisman (Crismon). My grandfather George Washington CRISMAN ( b. aug, 1892) was the son of Columbus ( b. abt 1866 ) and leah CRISMON . the spelling changed from one generation to the next. It seems the George's son spells his name CHRISMAN. *shrug* I found columbus and leah on the 1900 census for mt airy NC and can't find them in NC nor in Stuart Co VA for any year before or after 1900. But i did find George on the 1930 census in Stuart Co VA. But according to a grandson of Columbus and Leah, they lived and died in Stuart Co VA,. Also, I can't seem to find a death date or place of rest for either Columbus nor Leah Crismon. Other than the 1 census on each, I can't seem to find any information on this line.
