Ward and published by Iberian Publishing Co., Athens GA in 1997 lists the following Hales in Franklin County. (“6W” means 6 miles west of the county seat at Rocky Mount, and so on.) Grouping them by location supports your suggestion that there were several distinct Hale families in early Franklin County. Hale, George? and Lewis; Pigg RV; 6W. Hale, Thomas; Pigg RV; 6W.     3. Per my gggg grandfather War of 1812 Declaration of Soldier for Pension, Daniel Griffith and Alley Sheradan were married December 27, 1809 at Thomas Hales in Franklin County. Looking at the Hale's listed below and knowing that Daniel and Alley lived in the area of Runnett Bag and Buttermilk Creeks I would guess the Thomas Hale mentioned might be the Thomas B. listed below. Anyone have info on this Thomas B. Hale?
