I found the cemetery records, you refer to, stating that Lucy died in 1911. You will also note that the cemetery is the "John W. Fulcher Cemetery" and the record indicates that John and Lucy are on one headstone. Also there is a Bedi A. Fulcher, b. 27 Apr 1897; d. 11 Mar 1905 , their daughter. The only possible thing would be that the date on Lucy's headstone was misread and possibly should read 1921. Since it is apparent that Lucy was alive in 1910, the census of 1900 indicates that John was a widower, could have been wrong and Lucy may have been in another household taking care of someone, since the census do not record who should be living there on a certain date, but rather who is actually living in the household on that date. I found the following -------------------------------------- 1920 Mayo River District, Patrick Co., Va.; ED 126 p 162, sheet 9A, Enumerated 3 Feb 1920, visit 141 Johnnie W. Fulcher Head 57 Wid. Va Va Va Farmer Grant Son 20 Va Va Va (Looks like William G.) Mildred Dau 18 Va Va Va (Looks like Lucy) --------------------------------------- William G. was born Sept 1899 according to 1900 census Lucy was born 1901-2 according to 1910 census. On 1930 census Lucy was listed as Lucy M. Reynolds So John's daughter Lucy was Lucy Mildred Fulcher. So... Lucy died before 1920 unless she was away from home again. I guess I agree with Pat Johns, she was away in 1900. Where was she? She was probably enumerated in someone's household. I couldn't find her in the 1900 index though. In think she probably did die in 1911.
