Wilma, can you please rescan and resend the picture of Augustine Herman again? I am sorry for the trouble, but something went wrong with my e-mail account as soon as I opened it, and I don't understand what happened, but it deleted out both your messages. I saw they were there, and I didn't even have an opportunity to open them before they were removed. I don't know if there is a virus in my e-mail or what. I sure would appreciate it if you could do this right away. Rappahannock County, VA, Court Orders 1689-1692, page 193 (263), Court held 5 November 1690 – Ordered that Joshua Lawson for and on behalf of the Parish of North Farnham do forthwith upon sight hereof give in a just and perfect account to Capt. Wm. TAYLOR and Mr. Samuel Peachey of all and singular the Estate of Richard Lawson, which he now hath or lately has had in his custody and possession. Anyone have any additional info on this Capt. Wm. Taylor? My great-grandfather, Henry Lawson b abt 1810 of Patrick Co VA and later Stokes Co. NC named my grandfather Wm. Taylor Lawson. My grandfather, Wm, gave all his sons the middle name of Taylor. I have looked for years for Henry's parents. I thought a long shot might be a connection to Taylor families in the area. Thanks for any insight. Glenda

I do not know. That is an idea. I called him via phone Monday morning asking for his army picture, plus my deceased bro's but he said I sent them to Washington and told them to keep them. Once before he told me that he sent money for him and our brother to Washington for the WWII Memorial. Since I live in MD, when I feel like it, I will catch the train to Washington, then the subway to visit places there. Hi, Wilma, And thanks, but all I did was arrange the articles and pictures in a readable form. The real credit goes to the authors of all those wonderful stories! All thanks go to them. Go to www.wwiimemorial.com A good site with many pictures of the Memorial. You can do a search for names which have been added by family and by the National Archives. If you wish you can add information and a picture of those who served. Mary Anne msutphin@tcia.net
Wilma: The Library of Congress has collected -- and is still collecting -- an extensive body of veterans' memoirs, photos, correspondence, and other memorabilia from all U.S. wars. An entire room in the Library is devoted to it, and it's a stunning place to visit. You can spend hours looking at the photos and reading the letters and journals. Is it possible that your brother sent his material to the Library rather than the Memorial? Patsy, maybe my brother did a worthless thing in sending in his and his brother's pictures; nevertheless, he did. I have heard no photos are shown, but I believe my brother did send them in. There is no use to argue about this. He did it, foolish though it may have been. Patsy Weikart.... Is the Vaughan family mentioned in the Hollandsworth book? Any mention of brothers or the father of Thomas Hollandsworth (married to Susanna Mayes) or where they were before Patrick Co.?
Patsy, If this is the Thomas Hollandsworth family book I have a couple of questions. I am not sure if I have your correct e-mail address so if you'd like to send it to me at mvwg@comcast.net please do and I will ask you about the book. Thank you. Mary
Patsy, Which Hollandsworth book are you referring to? Mary
