    1. Patrick County Heritage Book Arrival Delayed till Late January or Early February 06
    2. Alpha Hiatt
    3. Due to both Hurricanes Katrina and Rita, the Patrick County Heritage Book Volume II arrival has been delayed until late January or early February 2006. This book is being done in Mississippi, 75 miles from Biloxi and it became part of history itself. When Katrina struck, our book along with 14 others were taken to high ground and placed in plastic storage bins in a high water-proof vault. We are pleased that not any of the 15 books were damaged. Extra people were put on board to get all these books accomplished so we actually are helping to provide jobs when they are so desperately needed there. If you have prepaid for one, we will certainly be in contact with you prior to pickup day. If you haven't purchased a copy yet, extras will be available at the day of pickup. We are also accepting names and addresses for the Volume 1 reorder list, so if you didn't get yours, let us know and we'll add you to our list. We already have enough to reorder and the reorder will be done as soon as Volume II is completed. Thanks to everyone who submitted stories and pictures for this book. It is bigger than Volume 1 with more pictures and will certainly be a book to treasure of Patrick County memories. Merry Christmas from all of us at the Patrick County Heritage Book Volume II Committee! Alpha Hiatt, Chairman __________________________________________ Yahoo! DSL – Something to write home about. 1. Y-DNA Via Surname Project
    2. Elaine
    3. Hi Everyone, I am Elaine Via the Group Administrator of the Y-DNA Via Surname Project with the Family Tree DNA. We just started our project at the end of July 2005. Right now, we have 17 members at this time. We our looking for male members who have the Surname of Via, Viar, Viars, Vier, Viers and ANY other spellings. That would like to join our project. Here is the website address of our Y-DNA Via Surname Project, please check it out. http://www.familytreedna.com/public/ViaSurnameProject/ The DNA results of our members is on the bottom of the page. We use Kit #, for privacy. Kit # 41120 is my twin brother. It has their family lines on the website too. The more males who join, the more family lines we will have in our group to compare with each other. The number one question I got it is, How do you get my Y-DNA for the Via Surname Project? The test it self is very simple and painless, just the swabbing of the inside cheeks of the mouth. The swabbing picks up loose skin cells which has the DNA to be tested. Then you mail the test kit back to Family Tree DNA. It is as simple as that. If anyone has ANY questions about the Y-DNA Project, just ask, I will do my best to answer them. I truly hope that the females who are Via's, like me, will ask a male member of their family (brother, father, uncle or cousin) to represent their Via family line. My brother has joined for me, for our family line. Sincerely, Elaine =^..^=

    3. Pat, thank you for taking care of this for me. You gave the right answer. David and I got some bad news on Monday night about 8:00 p.m. and we replied to Walsworth and Don on yesterday and have yet to hear back from both. I'll fill you via phone later. I came to the library to see if by chance either one had communicated via e-mail, but I guess not. I am not going to do a post on the Internet until I talk with Steve at Walsworth and Don. Take care and hope you're feeling better. I'll let you know what's going on as soon as we learn ourselves.
